Sex God by Rob Bell

Non-Fiction: Christianity. Audio from Zondervan. Published in 2006. 3 hours, 30 minutes. Read by Rob Bell. Purchased from Audible.com.

The title of this book is a bit deceptive. While it does talk some about sex in the sense one usually associates with the word, most of the book is really about connectedness. About how “this” affects “that”. It’s a short book and could delve deeper into the topics he addresses. That’s not necessarily a bad thing, though. I listened to this book, and about 45 minutes into it went and bought a hard copy as well. I could tell there was going to be plenty that I wanted to go back and contemplate and knew I would not want to be trying to find certain topics on the audiobook.

As an aside: I really enjoyed Rob Bell’s reading of this book. It was fun to hear him stop at certain points in the text and add comments not included in the book.

Publisher’s summary:
God and sex go together. You can’t separate the two, says Rob Bell, because this physical world is intimately linked to deeper spiritual realities. And so, in order to make sense of sexuality, at some point you have to talk about God. With beauty and unusual insight, Sex God explores this connection.
